They met at the Summit Carpark and learnt about how the new trees had been planted and that the time was right to propagate/collect seeds from these trees to grow new ones in the nursery at EIT. These will grow in shadehouses and then when they are bigger and ready - they will be planted back on Kaiti Hill.

WOW what a great day and such a worthwhile activity. When I walk up Kaiti Hill, I see all the native trees growing, particularly near the new Home Guard track. A few years ago this side of the Titirangi was covered in pine trees and scrub. It is a wonderful project to be involved with and in the future you will be able to see the forest you helped to plant. Thank you!
